Mazak Webinar to Explore Digital Simulation Software for Manufacturing

Florence, Kentucky, October 16, 2012 – With digital simulation software, manufacturers can optimize their planning and production processes for improving their overall productivity and profitability. On November 14 at 2 p.m. ET, Mazak will host a webinar titled “Digital Simulation Software for Manufacturing” to demonstrate how a virtual manufacturing strategy can manage risks, improve time-to-market goals and reduce expensive downstream changes.

The webinar, presented by Joe Kraemer, corporate accounts manager for Mazak, will explore three main areas of digital simulation software use: cellular manufacturing involving palletized systems, such as Mazak’s PALLETECH, robotic systems utilizing a variety of resources and operations, and factory analysis for both new and existing facilities.

During the webinar, participants will gain valuable insight as to how digital simulation software can help them:

  • Properly configure a cellular manufacturing system based on customer requirements, including what Mazak PALLETECH automation system – single, double or tri-level – would best apply to an application,
  • Simulate manufacturing schedules to determine if processes can be completed within specific time parameters, ensure full use of available resources as well as perform “what-if” analyses of various production schedules and part mixes,
  • Easily assign production variables such as cycle times, load/unload times, parts per pallet, line layout and operator assignments,
  • Determine the number of resources required, such as robots, conveyors and part washers, to meet a customer's needs with the goal of maximizing capacity utilization,
  • Visualize, analyze and optimize an entire factory prior to implementing a new or changing an existing manufacturing process,
  • Accurately predict the production and financial impact of process changes,
  • Determine projected revenues and profitability based on proposed production changes.

As with all of Mazak’s Discover Technology Webinars, “Digital Simulation Software for Manufacturing” is free and approximately 60 minutes long. All it takes to participate is a computer, an Internet connection and a web browser. Registration for the webinar is now open at www.mazakusa.com/webinar.
