Fiber Laser Facilitates New Business

About two years ago, FabX Industries began looking to diversify their customer base—by starting a new company that specialized in laser cutting. This required FabX to begin the search for laser-cutting equipment. During the research process, FabX was drawn to Mazak and ultimately decided to purchase the OPTIPLEX NEXUS 3015 FIBER 6kW. As demand soon increased, FabX once again looked to Mazak to purchase another laser. In addition to purchasing another OPTIPLEX NEXUS 3015 FIBER, the company also added Mazak’s LASER FLEX automation system to their operations. Mazak’s machines and automation have provided numerous benefits. For example, the ability to implement lights off operations has given FabX the ability to load material on the machines before leaving for the day and simply unload finished parts in the morning.

Optimize Secondary Processes with 3D Programming

As with 2D laser processing, enhancements in 3D tube processing for machine tools continues as well. Machines are no longer just cutting tube or structural material, but they are now capable of handling additional processes such as tapping, thermal drilling, and ergonomic features such as assisting in part sorting for the machine operator on the unload side. All making the machine a more capable and efficient instrument for fabricators.
